Referring to your enquiry, by telephone this morning

I have now referred to my papers on the subject of the above Company, and I find that the Siemens China Company, which until May 1914, was carried on under the title of "The Siemens China Electrical Engineering Company" is a Branch of Messrs. Siemens Schuckertwerke, Berlin, carrying on business in various parts of the Empire of China, including Hongkong.

The business at Hongkong was carried on as a Sub- Branch of the- Shanghai Branch of Siemens-Schuckertwerke, Berlin and was in charge of a r. Douglas Munton, who held Powers of Attorney from Siemens Frothers & Company Ltd., and Siemena Brothers Dynamo Works, Ltd.,

Shortly after the commencement of the Far, Siemens Erothers Dynamo Works, Limited, were Liferaed by Mr. funton that the Governement in Hongkong would not permit the Hongkong Pranch to carry on business, owing to its association with a German firm, and, later, that the Hongkong Branch was carrying on business in the name of Siemens Brothers Dynamo Works,Ltd. to get over the difficulty.
